01 — Orientation

The short version

This summary is here so you know what you are agreeing to without reading eight sections. It is a guide, not the agreement — where it and the full text differ, the full text is what binds.

  • Veroise is desktop software, not a music subscription. Playback retrieves content from YouTube using browser or native playback. A Pro purchase grants no rights to music or to a Google account.
  • Veroise is independent. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC or YouTube.
  • What you pay for is software. A Veroise Pro licence unlocks four desktop features. It buys you nothing on YouTube's side and never will.
  • First-purchase refund guarantee. Your first paid Pro purchase has a 14-day voluntary refund window. Renewals and later purchases do not restart it. Mandatory refund and cancellation rights still apply.
  • Third-party compatibility is a risk. YouTube can change or restrict access. Lifetime means the operational life of Veroise Pro, not a promise of perpetual service. Shutdown remedies are explained below.
  • Limited business data. Billing, trial eligibility, licensing, security and support require some information. Google authentication and playback requests go to Google; they are not sent to our licence server.
  • Optional anonymous usage counts, off until you agree. Veroise counts launches, whether the app is in use and activity on the Pro page only after you opt in. It does not count playback or searches and sends no account, licence or device identifier. Change your choice in Settings → About → Legal & privacy.
  • Your rights are not signed away. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in this document, and nothing in it reduces the rights the Québec Consumer Protection Act gives you.
02 — Third-party dependencies

Third-party web player statement

In one line: Veroise is an unofficial client with browser and native playback methods. YouTube controls its content, accounts and access conditions; continued compatibility is not guaranteed.

This section describes the current software. It is not a statement that Google has approved Veroise, or a legal opinion that every feature complies with YouTube's terms. You remain responsible for the rights and permissions needed to use the third-party service.

What Veroise actually is

Browser playback uses the music.youtube.com web player in Chromium. Native playback resolves YouTube audio stream URLs and plays them through a local audio process. Native resolution may process YouTube player scripts and obtain playback tokens. Google sign-in uses Google's page; local session information is used for authenticated requests to Google.

Veroise adds desktop controls, visual themes, library and queue views, a detachable media flyout, artwork colour grades and crossfading. Features and playback methods depend on the installed version and on third-party compatibility.

Playback and account limitations

  • Advertising can be affected. The current code includes ad-request blocking, ad-response filtering and advertisement volume controls. Native playback does not reproduce the complete web-player experience. These features may conflict with third-party terms; no authorization or exemption is claimed.
  • No offline-download feature is offered. Playback transfers media over the network and uses temporary buffers. This is different from a feature for saving recordings for later offline use.
  • No account or content entitlement is sold. Paying for Pro does not buy YouTube Premium, permission to use copyrighted content, or a guarantee that Google will accept the client.
  • Account restrictions remain possible. Google may limit playback, change its requirements, or restrict an account. Veroise cannot promise to prevent or reverse those decisions.
  • Local authentication is used with Google. Session cookies may be read locally for requests to Google. They are not sent to our licensing server.

Third-party changes and restrictions

Compatibility and permission to access a third-party service can change independently of Veroise:

  • Veroise is an unofficial client. YouTube's Terms of Service govern your access. No Google approval is represented. A platform complaint, restriction or legal requirement may require us to change or discontinue features — see Availability, changes and discontinuation for what that means for anyone who has paid.
  • Veroise reads YouTube's internal web endpoints to build your library, playlist and artist views, using the session you are already signed in with. Native playback also resolves media through YouTube endpoints. These endpoints are not a contractual compatibility guarantee from Google.
  • Veroise uses client identifiers and user-agents for playback and sign-in. Their use does not establish permission from Google or grant rights to otherwise restricted content.
Standing offer

If Google LLC, YouTube, or any rightsholder believes something in Veroise crosses a line, write to support@veroise.com. We review specific complaints and may disable or remove affected functionality while investigating or responding to a valid legal requirement. Mandatory response deadlines take priority over our ordinary support targets.

Trademarks

YouTube, YouTube Music, Google and their logos are trademarks of Google LLC. Windows and Windows 11 are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Stripe is a trademark of Stripe, Inc. All are used here nominatively — that is, to describe accurately what Veroise works with. No endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship is claimed or implied, and Veroise's own branding is deliberately unlike any of theirs.

03 — Agreement

Terms of Service

In one line: use the app for what it is for, understand that it depends on a service nobody here controls, and keep every consumer right Québec law gives you.

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms are an agreement between you and Mikael Beaudin-Landry, a sole proprietor doing business as Veroise ("we", "us"), operator of the Veroise desktop application and of veroise.com. Official contact details are in section 8.

They apply when you download, install, or use Veroise, and when you buy a Veroise Pro licence. If you do not accept them, do not install the app; if you have already installed it, uninstalling it ends the software licence. Uninstalling does not cancel a paid subscription; use the cancellation process in section 6.

The installer and the welcome screen shown on first launch each ask you to confirm that you agree to these Terms, the Licence Agreement and the Privacy Policy before you continue, and Veroise keeps a record of that confirmation (the version, the language shown and the time) on your computer.

2. What you need before Veroise is useful

  • Windows 11 (build 22000 or later for the acrylic backdrop; the app runs on Windows 10 with a solid background instead).
  • Your own Google account with access to YouTube Music. We do not supply one, cannot supply one, and cannot restore one you lose.
  • An internet connection. Playback is streamed by YouTube, not by us.

Your use of YouTube Music is governed by your own agreement with Google, not by this one. We are not a party to it and cannot vary it. You are responsible for complying with it.

You must have legal capacity to purchase Pro, or valid authorization from a person who can enter the contract for you. You are responsible for your device, internet connection and account security. Keep backups of important local data; this does not excuse any liability or obligation we have under mandatory law.

3. What you may not do

You agree not to:

  • modify Veroise, or build tools for Veroise, in order to block advertising, download media, circumvent access controls, or defeat any restriction that YouTube or a rightsholder applies;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application, except precisely to the extent that Québec or Canadian law makes that right unwaivable, such as for interoperability;
  • remove, disable, or work around the licence check, or use, share, or sell a licence key you did not buy;
  • resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute Veroise or any part of it;
  • use Veroise to infringe anyone's copyright, or in any way that breaks the law where you are.

4. Veroise Pro

Veroise Pro is a paid licence to four features of the desktop application: dual-deck crossfade, the media flyout window, the now playing studio, and artwork colour grades. Library, search, queue, playback and every setting work without it.

A Pro licence is a licence to our software and nothing else. It does not sell, licence, sublicense, or provide access to YouTube Music, to any account, or to any copyrighted recording. We take no share of anything you pay Google, and paying us gives you nothing on Google's side.

Plans, prices and billing terms are shown in the application before you buy and on Stripe's hosted checkout page. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that apply where you live. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel; the Lifetime plan is a single payment that does not renew. One licence may be active on two devices at a time, and you can move it freely between machines.

What Lifetime means

Lifetime is a one-time licence for the operational life of Veroise Pro. It does not renew and is not tied to your natural lifetime. It does not promise perpetual hosting, updates, support or compatibility with YouTube or future operating systems. Activation and periodic licence validation still require our licence service; indefinite offline operation is not promised. This definition does not shorten any legally required period of conformity or durability. The discontinuation remedies below still apply.

The trial

The Monthly plan offers a 14-day trial that requires a payment method up front. Nothing is charged during the trial. If you have not cancelled by the time it ends, the first monthly charge is taken automatically. The application shows a countdown, and the last reminder names both the amount and how to cancel — because a charge nobody expected is a bad outcome for both of us.

The trial is for first-time eligible customers. Additional accounts, email addresses or reinstalls do not create a right to repeat trials. A trial is separate from the 14-day first-purchase refund guarantee, which starts when the first payment is taken.

5. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. on Stripe's own hosted pages, opened in your system browser. We never see, handle, or store your card number. Stripe's terms and privacy policy apply to that part of the transaction.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries on its usual schedule. Pro features unlock again as soon as a payment succeeds, and no setting is erased in the meantime.

Pro access depends on a valid licence and payment status. Fraudulent payments, refunded entitlements and disputed payments may affect access as described in section 6. We do not impose an automatic chargeback penalty or require you to waive your right to contact your bank. Exchange rates and bank charges are set by your payment provider, subject to applicable law.

6. Availability, changes, and discontinuation

Veroise depends entirely on a third-party service we do not control. YouTube can change its player, its endpoints, its terms, or its willingness to be embedded, at any time and without warning, and any of those can break part or all of the app.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep Veroise working, without promising uninterrupted service or a fixed repair deadline. If we cannot — or if Google asks us to stop — we may have to discontinue the app. If that happens:

  • we will announce it on veroise.com and by email to licence holders;
  • active subscribers get a pro-rata refund of the unused part of the current billing period, without having to ask;
  • Lifetime purchasers within the first 14 days may use the first-purchase refund guarantee if eligible. After that window, we do not promise an additional voluntary shutdown refund for Lifetime purchases.
  • Mandatory rights take priority. Any legally required refund, price reduction, repair or other remedy remains available, including for Lifetime purchasers. A shutdown does not erase those rights.

Temporary outages do not automatically trigger an extra voluntary refund outside the first-purchase guarantee. If an essential paid feature is permanently withdrawn, or the software does not conform to the purchase description, mandatory remedies still apply. We will not continue charging renewals for a service we permanently stop providing.

Changes to the agreement

New terms may apply to future purchases. We do not reserve an unrestricted right to change an existing purchase's essential features, price or duration. Changes to existing contracts require your agreement or a legally permitted modification process. Where Québec law permits a unilateral modification, we will identify the affected provisions and give the required written notice at least 30 days in advance, showing the old and new wording, effective date and applicable refusal and cancellation rights. Continued use alone does not waive those rights or retroactively reduce an accrued refund entitlement.

7. Warranties

Veroise is provided "as is". To the extent the law permits, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

That disclaimer has real limits and we are not pretending otherwise. If you are a consumer, the Québec Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c. P-40.1) gives you warranties — including that the software conforms to the description we gave it and is fit for its ordinary purpose — that cannot be excluded by contract. Nothing in this section removes them, and nothing in it removes any equivalent right you hold under the consumer law of another province or country.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law permits, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Veroise is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost data.

This limitation does not apply to: bodily or moral injury; our own gross or intentional fault; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that Québec or Canadian law does not allow to be limited. If you are a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, the limitation applies only so far as that Act allows.

In particular, nothing here excludes responsibility that section 10 of the Québec Consumer Protection Act prohibits us from excluding. The cap does not reduce refunds expressly promised in this document or remedies imposed by mandatory law. For claims to which a limitation lawfully applies, the cap is aggregate, not a separate allowance for each device, incident or legal theory.

9. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Veroise at any time by uninstalling it, and cancel a subscription at any time from the Stripe customer portal (Settings → Veroise Pro → Change plan).

We may suspend or terminate a licence if it is being used to circumvent the licence check, or shared or resold in breach of section 3, or if a payment is fraudulent or no longer funds the entitlement. We will normally give notice and a reasonable chance to correct a remediable breach. Immediate suspension may be needed for a disputed payment, credible fraud, a security incident or a legal requirement. We will explain the reason where lawful and provide a way to challenge an error. If we terminate without a customer breach, the discontinuation remedies in section 6 apply; mandatory rights are preserved. Termination does not by itself cancel Stripe billing: any subscription no longer being supplied must also be cancelled.

10. Governing law and where disputes go

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of Québec have jurisdiction.

Deliberately absent

This agreement contains no mandatory arbitration clause and no class-action waiver. Under section 11.1 of the Québec Consumer Protection Act those clauses are void against consumers anyway, so including them would only mislead you about what you can do.

If you are a consumer resident somewhere else, nothing here removes your right to bring proceedings in your own courts or to rely on the mandatory consumer law of the place you live.

11. Language

The French version and French EULA are available alongside this English version. Where Québec's French-language contract requirements apply, the French agreement and related documents must be provided through a compliant process before an express choice to contract in another language. Merely offering a translation on request is not a substitute for that process. Nothing here waives language rights or requires a consumer to accept English. Where the law allows a consumer to rely on either language version, that choice is preserved. Language enquiries may be sent to support@veroise.com.

12. Odds and ends

If any provision here is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce something is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this agreement; we may assign it as part of a sale of the business, on notice to you, and your rights are unaffected.

04 — Licence

End-User Licence Agreement

In one line: you get a personal licence to run Veroise on your machines — you are not buying the software itself.

1. Grant

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Veroise on computers you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial listening.

The two-device allowance is for your own use, not two separate customers. Sharing, selling or publicly posting a key does not transfer this licence or create another user's entitlement.

Without a Pro licence you may use every part of the application except the four Pro features. With a Pro licence, those unlock on up to two devices at a time. Activating a third device automatically releases whichever of the two has gone longest without being opened; you can also release a device deliberately by signing out of Pro on it.

2. Ownership

Veroise is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors retain all right, title and interest in the application, its source, its design and its name. Veroise is proprietary software. No open-source licence is granted, and the presence of source code in any distribution or repository does not grant one.

Third-party components bundled with Veroise — including Electron, GSAP and Koffi — remain under their own licences, which are reproduced in the application directory and are unaffected by this agreement.

3. The licence file

Your licence is a short, cryptographically signed statement stored in your own application data. Veroise verifies it offline using a public key compiled into the app, which is why Pro keeps working with no network. Veroise re-checks with the licence server periodically to see whether anything changed — a cancellation, a refund, a failed payment — and keeps working through a grace period when that check cannot reach the network, because a failed request is usually bad wifi rather than fraud.

Your licence key is yours to keep, back up, and paste into a new machine. Treat it like a password: anyone holding it can take one of your two device slots.

4. What happens when Pro ends

When a paid entitlement expires or is withdrawn following a refund, a payment dispute or a valid termination, the four Pro features lock and everything else carries on. Locking never deletes a preference. Your crossfade length, artwork grade, and the now playing stage you designed are all kept exactly as they were and come straight back if Pro returns.

5. Updates

Updates may address security, compatibility and functionality. They do not create an unrestricted right to remove essential purchased features without the applicable remedies. Section 6 of the Terms applies to discontinuation; statutory rights remain available for non-conformity or a permanent loss of an essential paid feature.

05 — Privacy

Privacy Policy

In one line: our licence service handles billing, licensing, security and support information, plus anonymous usage counts you can switch off. Google session information is stored locally and used for requests to Google, not sent to our licence service.

This policy describes how information is handled. Rights under Québec's private-sector privacy law, Canada's PIPEDA and applicable EEA / UK data-protection law remain available wherever those laws apply.

The business responsible for the personal information described in this policy operates as Veroise. Its legal operator and business contact details are in section 8.

1. What stays on your computer

Stored in your Windows user profile. Session cookies, listening history and settings are not sent to our licence server. The exceptions for usage counters and licensing data are described below:

  • Your Google / YouTube session cookies. You sign in on Google's page. Chromium stores the session locally; the app reads relevant session information for authenticated requests to Google, including native playback. Our licence server does not receive those cookies or your Google password.
  • Your listening. Playback, searches and library actions are sent to Google to operate the service. The app can keep local history and discovery preferences. Our licence server does not collect that listening history.
  • Your settings — appearance, crossfade, presets, layout.
  • Usage counts not yet sent — a small file of counters (see section 3 below) until they are sent or you switch the counting off.
  • Your licence file and device id. Activation, refresh and device release send the required licence credential and device id to our licence server to manage your entitlement and device slots (see below).

2. What we actually collect

Starting a trial or purchase, using a licence, contacting support or visiting a hosted service can disclose information even before you make a payment. Hosting providers process network information such as IP addresses and request metadata. The licence service uses short-lived rate-limit records and trial-eligibility markers to prevent repeated trials and abuse.

WhatWhyKept for
Email address To send your licence key and to identify your licence if you need it restored While needed for the licence or support; transaction records normally up to 7 years where required for accounting or legal obligations
Stripe customer & subscription identifiers To know what you bought and whether it is still active Same
Plan, status, purchase date, renewal date To unlock the right features for the right period Same
Device identifier — 16 random bytes generated by your install To enforce the two-device limit Until explicit release, or after 45 unused days during daily cleanup. Retired device ids used to notify an evicted device are deleted after 45 days as well.
Last-seen timestamp per device To reclaim slots from machines nobody uses Same
Trial-eligibility markers and payment / dispute records Prevent repeated trials, administer refunds, verify payment status and answer disputes While needed to enforce eligibility or resolve the transaction; retain legally required records and review continued necessity
Support correspondence and order references Answer requests, investigate billing errors and document resolutions While needed for the request, dispute or applicable legal obligation
Network metadata and rate-limit identifiers Operate hosted services and limit automated abuse Our application rate-limit counters expire after about an hour; provider logs follow the provider's retention rules
On the device id

It is deliberately not a fingerprint. It contains no hostname, no username, no hardware serial and no MAC address — it is sixteen random bytes written to a file once. It is associated with your licence record and is therefore treated as potentially personal information, even though it is not a hardware fingerprint.

3. Anonymous usage counts

Veroise can keep a short list of counters so that its author can see whether the app is used and why people do or do not buy Veroise Pro, without needing to know who anyone is. They are off until you agree. The welcome screen shown on first launch asks once, with an unticked box ("Share anonymous usage stats"); nothing is counted or sent unless you tick it, and you can continue without ticking it. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → About → Legal & privacy → Share anonymous usage counts.

What is countedWhy
Launches of the app and how often the Discover page is opened. Whether this installation was used on a given UTC day, ISO week and month (at most one count each). Veroise does not count playback, tracks, searches or the other pages. To know how many people use Veroise
While the app is open and the computer has been used in the last half hour, one empty signal per clock hour to say "in use". It contains nothing but a format number. To know how many people are using Veroise right now
On the Veroise Pro page: times opened, seconds spent there, whether it was left within a few seconds, which locked feature sent you there, where in the app you opened it from (sidebar, settings, a locked feature, the player, the tray or a shortcut, or the studio preview), which plan card you pressed, whether you pressed the free-trial button, and whether a checkout was opened, failed or completed, for which plan, and through which of those places the page had last been opened. When the Now playing studio is opened without Pro: whether you tried it, changed something, pressed the buy button, closed it, or bought Pro and kept the look. To see where people stop between interest and purchase
"First time" counts, sent once per installation: the first time the Pro page was opened, with how long after the first launch that was (under 5 minutes, an hour, a day, a week, a month, or later), and the first time each plan card or the trial button was pressed. An installation under a day old says once that it is new, and later says once each whether it was used again 1, 7 and 30 days after its first launch. When a trial ends, the app says once whether it became Pro or went back to the free plan. To send each of these only once, the app remembers on your computer the date it was first launched and which of them it has already sent; that memory is never uploaded. To count people rather than clicks, to know when people first look at Pro, and how many new users keep using Veroise
One optional answer, only if you tap it: the reason you are not buying (too expensive, the free version is enough, missing features, no subscription, just looking). It is asked once and can be dismissed. To understand why people do not buy
Sent with each upload: the Veroise version, the language of your system (French, English or other) and whether you are on the free plan, a trial or Pro. To read the counts correctly

What is not in them: no track, artist, search text, playlist name, library content, Google account, email address, licence key or device identifier, and no identifier of any kind for your installation. The counts are not linked to your licence, your purchase or your support requests, and Veroise cannot tell one installation from another.

How they travel and how long they are kept. The app adds counts up on your computer and sends a small batch to our licence server on Cloudflare shortly after launch and new activity, about every half hour while the app is open, and once when it closes, at most 24 times a day; the hourly "in use" signal is separate. To limit abuse the server uses the sender's network address only to compute a salted hash that changes every day and cannot be matched from one day to the next; the address itself is not stored with the counts. Individual batches are added into daily totals and then deleted within about a day, hourly "in use" counts are deleted after two days (only each day's busiest hour is kept), and the daily totals are kept for up to 13 months. Cloudflare may log request metadata under its own retention rules.

Your control. Turning the setting off stops all uploads and signals and immediately deletes anything not yet sent. Counts already added into daily totals cannot be traced back to you, so they cannot be removed individually. The setting applies to this installation; "Delete all saved data" in Settings also clears pending counts, the "first time" memory and any answer you gave, but keeps your choice.

4. What we never collect

  • No listening-history analytics. The usage counts in section 3 are numbers only, are off until you agree, and never say what you played, searched for or saved.
  • No advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, no third-party trackers, and no cookies on veroise.com beyond what a static page needs.
  • No card numbers. Stripe handles payment on its own pages; card data never reaches us.
  • No listening history, library contents, playlists or search queries sent to the licence service. Google receives requests needed to operate playback and library features.
  • No contact-list, personal-file, microphone or camera access requested for the licence service. Local application files and Google session data are used as described above.

5. Legal basis (EEA / UK users)

  • Performance of a contract — holding your email, plan and device slots so the licence you bought works.
  • Legal obligation — keeping transaction records for tax and accounting.
  • Legitimate interests — the two-device limit and basic abuse rate-limiting on the licence server.
  • Consent — the anonymous usage counts in section 3. They are read from your computer and sent only after you agree, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings with the same effort it took to give it.

The relevant legal basis depends on the processing and the law that applies. Usage counts are asked for before anything is collected, so the same choice works wherever you live. Trial-eligibility decisions use automated checks of prior trial use; contact support if a check incorrectly refuses your trial.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Google / YouTube separately processes authentication, content and playback requests under its own policies. Software distribution and update providers also process requests made to them. We may disclose relevant business records to processors and professional advisers, to respond to lawful requests, or to establish or defend legal claims, with safeguards required by applicable law.

Transfers outside Québec

These providers can process information outside Québec, including in the United States. Foreign laws and lawful access requests may apply. Such transfers are subject to the assessments and contractual safeguards required by the law governing the processing. Contact support for information about the relevant destination and safeguards; this notice does not replace a legally required assessment or agreement.

7. Your rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct it if it is wrong; delete it; receive it in a portable, structured, commonly used technological format; withdraw consent where we rely on it; and complain to a regulator.

Québec residents additionally have the rights conferred by Law 25, including rights relating to automated decision-making, and the right to have information de-indexed or ceased to be disseminated in the circumstances the Act sets out.

Write to support@veroise.com. We answer within 30 days, free of charge. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca), to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), or to your local supervisory authority in the EEA or UK.

8. Person in charge

The Person responsible for the protection of personal information is reachable at support@veroise.com.

9. Confidentiality incidents

We keep a register of confidentiality incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and every affected person promptly, describing what happened, what information was involved, and what to do about it.

10. Security

Licence records are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure and reached only over TLS. The private key that signs licences is held in the server's secret configuration and is not shipped in the desktop application. The licence server does not hold card numbers or Google session cookies. No system can guarantee absolute security; billing, licence, device and support records can be affected by an incident.

11. Children

Veroise is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and email licence holders at least 30 days before it takes effect.

06 — Refunds & Cancellation

Refunds & Cancellation

In one line: a 14-day voluntary guarantee covers your first paid purchase. Renewals and subsequent purchases do not restart it. Cancellation stops future renewals; mandatory rights remain available.
First paid purchase only

Your first paid Veroise Pro purchase, whether Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime, is eligible for a full voluntary refund if your request reaches us within 14 calendar days after the first payment. The purchase day is day zero. A free trial does not start this clock; the first actual charge does. No reason is required.

Email support@veroise.com with your order reference and purchasing email address. We may ask for reasonable proof that you are entitled to request the refund. Contact us if you no longer have access to the purchasing address.

The voluntary guarantee is available once per customer. Renewals, upgrades, plan changes, repeat purchases and additional accounts do not create a new guarantee. These eligibility limits apply only to the extra voluntary guarantee, never to statutory rights.

Renewals and later purchases

Outside the first-purchase guarantee, charges are not voluntarily refundable solely because you changed your mind, stopped using Pro, forgot to cancel, or switched plans. Cancelling partway through a paid period does not automatically create a voluntary pro-rata refund. Billing errors, legally required remedies and the permanent-shutdown promise in the Terms are treated separately.

Processing and licence access

We aim to review voluntary refund requests within 3 business days. Required legal deadlines take priority. Approved refunds return to the original payment method; banks and payment providers control when the funds appear. We do not deduct our processing costs from an eligible full refund. We cannot guarantee a bank's exchange rate or reversal of its separate charges, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

A full refund of a purchase withdraws the refunded Pro entitlement. When refunding the initial subscription purchase under this guarantee, we also cancel that subscription's future renewals. A partial refund or an agreed goodwill credit does not by itself cancel a subscription. Any remaining paid entitlement and billing treatment will be explained when the refund is agreed. Free features and local preferences are not removed by a refund.

Cancelling

In the app, Settings → Veroise Pro → Change plan opens Stripe's customer portal. Cancel before the next scheduled renewal; retain the cancellation confirmation. If the portal is inaccessible, send a clear cancellation notice to support@veroise.com. Uninstalling the app, deleting a local key or ceasing to use Pro does not notify Stripe to cancel your subscription.

  • During the trial: cancel before the displayed trial end time to prevent the first charge. There is nothing to refund if no payment was taken.
  • Monthly or Yearly: ordinary cancellation stops future renewals and leaves Pro available until the paid period ends, unless the entitlement is refunded, disputed or validly terminated.
  • Lifetime: there is no recurring subscription to cancel. The first-purchase guarantee and statutory remedies still apply.

Billing errors and product problems

Report duplicate charges, charges after an effective cancellation, unauthorized payments or a failure to supply what was purchased. We investigate and provide the remedy required by law. You may tell us about a problem so we can attempt a reasonable fix, but contacting support or waiting for a fix is not a condition that removes your statutory rights. Any additional goodwill refund is assessed case by case and does not create a standing entitlement for later charges.

Refund abuse and duplicate reimbursement

We may decline an ineligible voluntary request or a repeat attempt to obtain the first-purchase guarantee using different accounts. We may verify an order and coordinate an open payment dispute to avoid reimbursing the same amount twice. Refunds and recovered amounts for the same payment are credited against each other; there is no right to a duplicate payment for the same refund. These safeguards do not delay or reduce remedies beyond what applicable law permits.

Your statutory rights

The 14-day voluntary window is not a deadline for every legal claim. Nothing here excludes mandatory warranties, rights arising from non-conformity or non-delivery, statutory cancellation, price reduction, reimbursement or lawful bank disputes. Where a legal right is more protective, that right applies.

  • Québec: distance-contract disclosure and contract-delivery requirements apply, with cancellation and reimbursement rights when those requirements or other legal obligations are not met.
  • EEA / UK: applicable withdrawal rights for digital content or services are separate from this voluntary guarantee. Downloading, activating or using Veroise alone is not treated here as a waiver of those rights. Any legally valid exception requires the relevant disclosures and consent.

Payment disputes

You may dispute a payment with your bank without first obtaining our permission. Pro access associated with a disputed payment may be suspended while payment status is resolved, in accordance with applicable law. Our licence system may suspend Pro on the affected customer record while a dispute is open. A dispute is not by itself proof of fraud, and we do not impose an automatic dispute penalty.

If a dispute is resolved in our favour and the licence is otherwise valid, we restore the relevant entitlement. If the payment is reversed, the entitlement funded by it may end. Tell us if an unrelated valid purchase is affected so we can review it. No suspension removes your right to a legally required remedy or permits ongoing billing for a service that we permanently stop supplying.
